Roborough Rewilders

Our first ever Open Day got off to a good start when the rain stopped, folks arrived and Nick gave an overview on the project to date, and then led a guided walk around the project.

The fields were looking green and lush after all the rain, and no one knew whether to wear a coat, sunhat, shorts or what!

This was followed by Jack, who spoke up for the unappreciated invertebrates.

By the end of her presentation, everyone was definitely on the side of invertebrates….

….and the invertebrates were on Jack’s hand!

During lunch, including pasties from The Moorland Larder and cakes made by Sarah Bonner from Ley Farm, there were many opportunities to talk with experts in their fields. Nick Withers was on hand to talk about wildlife photography, and how to capture that perfect image.

Whilst Paul Hopkinson shared his knowledge of trail cameras, how to set them up, where to site them, and even how to adjust their focus.

Nick went on to complete our afternoon with a talk on wildlife photography, the different animals he has photographed, the courses he provides and his personal experiences with trail cameras.

We thank everyone for their participation in the event, we hope that you enjoyed it, we hope that you spread the word about the project, and we hope to see you all again next year.
