Roborough Rewilders

We want to see

More areas of rewilded habitat

The aims of Roborough Rewilders are:

  • to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment by promoting biological diversity; and
  • to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

In addition to managing our rewilding site at Roborough Fields, we do this by:

  • Talks on rewilding given by Nick.*
  • Tours of Roborough Fields, led by Nick.*
  • Attending agricultural and countryside shows under the banner “Let Us Help You Rewild Your Land”. We promote the aims of the charity by presenting the Roborough Fields story to the public and by talking to people about rewilding, both to encourage them to support Roborough Rewilders and, where appropriate, to encourage them to take steps to rewild their own land.
  • Giving Nick’s advice free of charge to people considering rewilding their land.

* Any fee paid goes into the charity’s funds.

How are we funded?

Roborough Rewilders receives funding from the following sources:

  • Supporters’ membership fees.
  • One-off donations and grants.
  • Occasional fees paid for talks on rewilding and Roborough Fields site tours.
  • Work by Nick on other people’s rewilding projects. (One third of his consultancy fee is donated to Roborough Rewilders – see ** below)

How do we spend our funds?
  • Running costs, e.g. insurance, site maintenance, website fees, reimbursement of volunteers’ expenses (All our work is undertaken by volunteers who receive no payment other than reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses)
  • Payment of fees to attend shows and similar events to promote rewilding

* * Nick undertakes such work on the basis of the following agreement between him and the client:

Rewilding site work (e.g. laying out the site, engaging workers, hiring diggers, paying for liability insurance etc.) is charged by Nick to the client at cost price.  Nick also charges a consultancy fee for his expertise and oversight of the work.  He invoices for this personally, on the explicit understanding that one third of this fee will be donated to the charity.

Roborough Rewilders provides the client with written confirmation of receipt of this donation.
